GNP+ and the LIVING partnership present the report from LIVING 2012: The Positive Leadership Summit. The Positive Leadership summit was part of the LIVING consultation process and took place in Washington DC on 19-20 July 2012.
The report has become an extensive document capturing the richness of discussions and exchange during the 2 day summit. One of the chief purposes of the Living Consultation process has been to derive the key advocacy priorities for the community of people living with HIV. In the LIVING report you will see those key advocacy priorities reflected strongly. These outputs are now being used to update the People Living with HIV Global Advocacy Agenda.
The Global Advocacy Agenda is a tool that has been used by networks and organizations since 1999 to guide advocacy efforts by and for people living with HIV. An updated Global Advocacy Agenda ensures that the global advocacy priorities for the movement of people living with HIV are in line with the current trends and responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
GNP+ will be conducting a validation survey with Living 2012 participants to ensure that the GAA development process is in line with the outputs of the Living 2012 consultation process. In order to build ownership among PLHIV advocates and organisations the final draft will be shared with key partners and stakeholders at an Implementation Meeting to be held in Marrakech, Morocco in November 2012. The Global Advocacy Agenda document itself will be launched at World AIDS Day 2012 in English, French and Spanish. French and Spanish translations of the LIVING 2012 report will also be available around that time.
