During the LIVING 2012 Summit, plenary addresses introduced the break out sessions where groups of people living with HIV worked on the themes according to different key questions. The themes concerned: Treatment, Prevention, Care and Support; Human Rights; and Community Mobilisation and Activism.
LIVING 2012 is a series of consultative processes with people living with HIV, including regional and/or expert consultations, and moderated e-consultations. The results of these consultations were presented in the thematic papers that were used during LIVING 2012.
GNP+ and the LIVING partnership present the report from LIVING 2012: The Positive Leadership Summit. The Positive Leadership summit was part of the LIVING consultation process and took place in Washington DC on 19-20 July 2012.

People living with HIV attending Living 2012 sent a special video message to the people attending the Sexworker Freedom Festival in Kolkata. Living 2012 was a pre conference to AIDS2012, the International AIDS Conference in Washington DC. However, as the USA prohibits sex workers, drug users as well as people with a criminal record to enter the country, Living 2012 as well as AIDS2012, missed many of the voices of these key populations affected by HIV.
